April 6th – Elaine Reid gave a demonstration on her cold wax methods for creating some of her art works. It encompassed asemic writing embedded in the work.
May 11th – A visit to Pretty Rubbish Mosaics at Dess was enjoyed by several of our members. Check them out here.
We also had our first sketching in company at the community centre, these are now held the third Monday of the month. All members welcome.
June 8th – The renowned Stonehaven based artist Colin Brown showed the club his latest collage and acrylic creations paying homage to Pierre-Joseph Redoute, the 18th-century painter and botanist.
September 8th – Carine Eunson, Wood Engraver and Printmaker gave a talk and demonstration on how to create a simple linocut print. She shared some of her previous work, alongside some of her beautiful wood engravings. Members and guests were then invited to have a go at some linocut techniques. It was a great precursor to the workshops to be held later in the year. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

October 12th – Bob Black brought along an extensive number of his sketch books and paintings and described the techniques he uses to paint his Favela’s and woodland landscapes that he has become renowned for. He is an active member of the Urban Sketchers group in Aberdeen and shared with the us his sketchbooks from his outings with the group.
